After 365 days, 16,000 miles, 2 countries, 4 provinces and
29 states, the Venzaliner is temporarily hunkered down in a Centennial Wyoming
garage (thanks Mom!) and here I am in Jupiter FL. Coincidental? Planned? No, just living in
the moment and realizing here I am one year later and what a year it has been!
As an update, mid-December I settled in as a temporary innkeeper
at The Mountain View Historic Hotel in Centennial, Wyoming. An awesome four-month
experience meeting new people and exploring new places. Centennial is a small
town, population 270 (although some Centennialites strongly disagree with this
number), located at the base of the Snowy Range just below the
Medicine Bow National Forest and the Snowy Range Ski Area with majestic mountains and abundant trails
for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing and snowshoeing.
Winter highlights included snowshoeing, igloo building,
dancing, winetasting, morning coffee, Murder Mystery dinner, Martini Mondays
(sometimes on Wednesdays), cookouts and so much more…click here to view pictures of my winter stay in Centennial. As a Centennial friend said, "You know that you will never leave 'Hotel Centennial' You can check out anytime you like, but you can't ever leave." And to that I respond, I'll be back! Thank you for the warm welcome Centennial; you are a one-of-a-kind community!
Stay tuned; the Venzaliner50 continues…I’m ready to journey on—living
completely without complete understanding; exploring the unknown, making new
friendships, renewing old friendships and partaking in life one day at a time!
