Two nights each at Seawall and Blackwoods Campground along with a day each to explore by car, bike and foot is not near enough time to explore Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. As you can tell from the map below, I conquered a good portion, but there was plenty left undone; guess I’ll just have to go back sometime.
Sunshine was bountiful for a hiking day. At the suggestion of a young man from the east coast of Florida, I set off to enjoy the SouthR idge Trail to Cadillac Mountain Summit from my campsite at Blackwoods Campground. It was a steep grade with a steady climb from a forest setting to the gentle granite ascent; a 8.7 mile hike from the campsite with an elevation gain of approximately 1,400 feet. Nothing else to share other than AWESOME!
