Balancing Fin & Yang |
Livingston is known as the "original gateway city to Yellowstone National Park" thanks to the Northern Pacific Railroad. The last part of the 19th century, it served as a delightful respite for those who took the long train ride across vast expanses to see the first national park, Yellowstone.
Today, so I read, "block-for-block, downtown Livingston has more buildings on the National Register of Historic Places than most large US cities." This small laid-back town is also home to an array of artists and galleries that have earned the reputation of "The Heart of Art in Montana."
It is here that I met up with a friend, Parks Reece. A tour of his art gallery brought smiles, chuckles and rolling eyes…What?! Those who know him know it is impossible not to smile, laugh and roll your eyes when viewing his art work or talking with him; peculiar, creative, witty and talented. If you ever get to Livingston, stop in and stroll through the Parks Reece Gallery and other Livingston galleries. I'm sure you will enjoy!
