Yellowstone National Park., America’s first National Park
was established in 1872 and named after the major river running through it, Yellowstone River. The park contains approximately one-half of the
world’s hydrothermal features (hot springs, mudpots, steam vents and geysers )…WOW,
that’s interesting…1/2 of the world's? With over 10,000 hydrothermal features, including over
300 geysers, rightfully so it’s known as Geyserland, fairyland, and wonderland!.
I enjoyed a late afternoon and evening drive around the
north loop road and enjoyed the sights via the car and overviews with the
intention of getting out and hiking tomorrow. Here are a few pics of the sights…click here!
After arising early, I packed up camp and headed south. The
drive into Old Faithful felt like I was arriving at Disneyworld. By the time I
made it to the parking lot with cars and people everywhere, I circled around
and exited without stopping. I decided pictures online would be just fine and
there is always the webcam at Old Faithful!
Unfortunately, I just wasn’t feeling it for Yellowstone.
Maybe my next visit will be in the winter; in the meantime, on to the Grand
Tetons!
